(Transcribed by Joan S Dunn) Deed Book E Page 370, 371, & 372 Samuel Ward To John Hart Deed 320 Acres This Indenture made this Thirteenth day of June one thousand seven hundred and ninety between Samuel Ward of the County of Duplin and State of No. Carolina planter of the one part and John Hart of the County and State aforesaid Labourer of the other part. Witnesseth that the said Samuel Ward hath for and in Consideration of the sum of fifty specie to him in hand paid by the said John Hart Beforae the sealing and Delivery of these presents the receipt whereof he doth hereby acknowledge hath given granted bargained and sold and by these presents doth give, grant bargain sell alien Enfeoffe Convey and Confirm unto the said John Hart his heirs and assigns forever a certain Tract or parcel of Land situate lying and being in the County of Duplin Between the No. East and Goshen Swamp and on on or near Poley Bridge Branch butted and bounded as followeth. Beginning at a pine the fourth corner of the Land Patent from the Beginning and a corner of Sullavints Land and running with his line So. 50 Wt. 200 poles to a pine thence No. 40 Wt. 180 poles crossing Sods. Branch to a stake thence No. 50 Et. 260 poles crossing Sods branch again to a stake, thence along the Given Line to the middle and thence to the Beginning. Containing three hundred and twenty acres being half a Survey Granted by Patent to the Samuel Ward bearing date the first day of April 1780 and now conveyed by the said Samuel Ward to the said John Hart as by these presents doth fully appear to have and to hold unto the said John Hart his heirs and assigns forever, together with all Houses Orchards, Garden, Fences, ways waters and water courses, and all the appurtainance previledges and profits unto the same belonging or in any ways appertaining with every part and parcel thereof and also all Estate Right Title claim and demand whatsoever of him the said Samuel Ward of in and to the said premises hereby granted or intended to be granted and every part and parcel thereof and the said John Hart his heirs and assigns shall and may from time to time and at all times forever hereafter have hold occupy possess and Enjoy the above Bargained premises to the only proper use benefit and Behooffe of the said John Heart his heirs and assigns forever free and Clear of and from all former or other gifts, grants, Bargains Sales wills Leases Mortgages or Intails or any other Incumbrances whatsoever, and the said Samuel Ward for himself his heirs Executors administrators and assigns and every of them doth Covenant and agree to and with the said John Heart to warrant and forever Defend the said Bargained premises unto the said John Heart his heirs and assigns forever of and from the Lawfull Claim or Claims of all and all manner of persons whatsoever. In witness whereof I the said Samuel Ward have hereunto set my hand and Seal this day and date above written.
