Samuel Carr To John Bradly
Deed 3 peices of Land 202 acres
This Indenture made the sixteenth day of December in the year of our Lord
one Thousand seven hundred and eighty nine. Between Samuel Carr of the County of
Johnston in the state of No. Carolina of the one part and John Bradly of the County
of Duplin in the state of North Carolina of other part Witnesseth that for and in
consideration of the sum of one Hundred pounds specie to the said Samuel Carr in
hand paid by the said John Bradly at or before the sealing and Delivery of these
presents the Receipt whereof he doth hereby acknowledge and therefore doth release
acquit and Discharge the said John Bradly his Heirs Execurtors and administrators
by these presents the the said Samuel Carr hath granted bargained sold aliened and
confirmed and by these presents doth grant bargain sell alien and confirm unto the
said John Bradly and his Heirs one certain peice or parcel of Land situate lying and
being in the County of Waine and in the state of North Carolina and is Bounded as
follows to wit. Begining at a pine and runs So. 60 Wt. 26 pole to a pine Thomas
Bennits corner thence along Bennits line So. crossing Thunder swamp 100 pole to a
white oak, thence Wt. 58 pole to a pine, thence No. 46 pole to a blackjack on Basses
line, thence with Basses line No. 23 Et. 36 pole to a red oak his corner, thence No.
80 pole to a pine, thence to the beging, containing fifty acres it being the contents
of a patent granted to Elijah Hinson and by him sold and conveyed to the said Samuel
Carr by a Deed of sale bearing Date the twenty seventh Day of May 1780. Reference
being thereunto had may more fully appear and also one other Tract of parcel of Land
situate lying and being in the aforesaid County of Waine, on the south side of thunder
swamp and west side of watery branch, including the Plantation whereon the Samuel Carr
formerly lived on Begining at a white oak at the run at the mouth of the watery and
runs thence down the swamp No. 35 Et. 12 pole to a white oak and a black jum at the
mouth of a small branch, thence up the said small branch as it meanders joining William
Bryans land thence with his line to a sweet fum on said Bryans line thence with his
line So. 40 Et. 84 pole to a maple in the watery branch thence down of the run of the
watery branch as it meanders the begining containing Ninety two acres of Land it being
land formerly sold and conveyed by James Hinson to the said Samuel Carr by a Deed bearing
Date the 29th day of February 1780. Reference being thereunto had may more fully appear.
And also one other Tract or parcel of Land lying and being in the County of Waine on
the south side of Thundre swamp and on the East side of the watery Branch near the head
thereof. Begining at a maple in the watery Branch the corner of his other survey and
runs thence So. 40 Et. 46 pole to a pine, thence So. 58 Et. 68 pole to a pine, thence
So. 74 Wt. 150 pole to a water oak and maple in the middle prong as it meanders to the
beging, containing sixty acres of Land it being part of a Tract of 300 acres granted by
patent to James Hinson and by him sold and conveyed to the said Samuel Carr Reference
being thereunto had may more fully appear The said three Different Tracts of parcels of
Land making in the whole Two hundred and two acres of Land and all Houses, Buildings,
orchards, ways, water courses Profits, connodities Heridittaments and appurtainances
whatsoever to the said premises, hereby granted or any part thereof belonging or in any
wise appurtaining and the Reversion and Reversions, Remainder and Remainders Rents,
issues and proffits thereof, and also all the Estate, Right, TItle, Interest, use, Trust,
Property Claim and Demand whatsoever of him the said Samuel Carr, of in and to the premises
and all Deeds, Evidences and Witness touching or in any wise concerning the same To have
and to hold the Lands hereby conveyed and all and singular other the premises hereby
bargained and sold and every part and parcel thereof with their and every of their
appurtainances unto the said John Bradly his Heirs and assigns forever to the only proper
use and behoofe of him the said John Bradly and of his Heirs and assigns forever. And the
said Samuel Carr for himself his Heirs Excrs. and admrs. doth covenant promise and grant
to and with the said John Bradly his Heirs and assigns by these presents, that the said
Samuel Carr now at the time of sealing and Delivery these presents is seized of a good
secure perfect and Indefeaseable Estate of Inheritance in fee simple of in the prmises
hereby bargained and sold, and that he had good power & lawfull authority to grant and
convey the same to the said John Bradly in manner and form aforesaid, and that the said
premises now are and so forever hereafter shall remain and be free & clear of and from all
former gifts, grants, bargains, sales, judgements, Titles Troubles and Charges whatsoever
and all Incumberance except the Rents and Taxes thereon hereafter becoming Due to the state
and the said Samuel Carr for himself his Heirs Excrs. and admrs. doth hereby promise and
engage to warrant and Defend to the John Bradly his Heirs and assigns forever, all and
singular the above said three Tracts of parcels of Land and premises hereby bargained and
sold with the appertenenences unto the said John Bradly and his Heirs against him the said
Samuel Carr and his Heirs and every person or persons whatsoever In Witness whereof the said
Samuel Carr hath hereunto set his hand and seal the Day and year first above written.
