Robert Wilkinson To James Wright
Deed for 75 acres lands
This indenture made the thirteenth day of October in the eleventh year of the
American Independence & in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred & eighty six.
Between Robert Wilkinson of the County of Duplin in the State of North Carolina of the
one part & James Wright of the same place of the other part witnesseth, that the said
Robert Wilkinson for and in consideration of the sum of ten pounds current money to him
in hand well and truly paid before the sealing & delivering of these present by the said
James Wright the receipt whereof he doth hereby acknowledge & himseld to be therewith
fully satisfied contented and paid & of every part and parcel thereof doth acquit and
discharge the said James Wright his heirs executors & administrators by these presents,
he the said Robert Wilkinson hath given granted bargained sold aliened enfeoffed conveyed
and confirmed & by these presents doth grant bargain sell alien enfeoffe convey and
confirm unto the said James Wright & his heirs a certain piece or parcel of land lying
& being in the County of Duplin aforesaid onthe north side of Bear Swamp & south side of
Poley Bridge Branch, joining & between Luke Ward's & Cullen Connerly's lines. Begining
at a small live oak in a small branch, a little above the main road, thence up the branch
No. 120 poles to a pine by the head of the Pocoson, thence Et. 90 poles to a pine
Connerly's corner, then So. 60 pole to a pine said Connerly's other corner, thence along
Connerly's other line Et. 234 pole to a black jack his corner, thence So. 68 Wt. along
John Ward's line 58 pole to a black gum and water oak Luke Ward's line 58 pole to a black
gum and water oak Luke Ward's corner, thence along Luke Ward's line So. 68 Wt. to a line
of marked trees made for a dividing line between said James Wright and Luke Ward, thence
along said dividing line a westwardly course to the main road & thence with the road to
the begining & containing in the whole 75 acres be the same more or less & all ways waters
water courses profits commodities hereditaments & appurtenances whatsoever to the said
premises hereby granted, or any part hereof belonging or in any wise appertaining. To
have and to hold the lands hereby conveyed & all and singular other the premises hereby
bargained & sold and every part and parcel thereof with their & every of their appurtenances
unto the said James Wright his heirs and assigns forever to the only proper use and behoof of
him the said James Wright his heirs & assigns forever & the said Robert Wilkinson doth
further covenant and agree to and with the said James Wright his heirs executors &
administrators to warrant secure and forever defend him the said James Wright his heirs
executors & administrators or assigns in the peacebly and quit possession of the said
bargained premises with all the appurtenances, from & against the just & lawfull claim
& demand of him the said Robert Wilkinson his heirs executors administrators or assigns
& from & against all and every other person or persons claiming or to claim by from or
under him them or any of them, any just right title interest or property of in or to the
said bargained premise or any part or parcel thereof. In witness whereof the said Robert
Wilkinson hath hereunto set his hand and affixed his seal the day & year first above
written.
