(Transcribed by Joan S Dunn) Deed Book E Page 310, 311, 312, & 313 Robert Bird Senior To Robert Bird Junior Deed 275 acres This Indenture made the ninth day of July in the sixteenth year of the American Independence, and in the year of our Lord Christ one thousand seven hundred and ninety one. Between Robert Bird Senior of the County of Duplin in the State of North Carolina of the one part and Robert Junior son of the said Robert Bird Senior of the other part. Witnesseth that the said Robert Bird Senior for diverse good causes and considerations him thereunto moving but more especially for and in consideration of the natural love and affection which he the said Robert Bird Senior, doth bear to the said Robert Bird Junior his son. He the said Robert Bird Senior hath given granted, bargained, transferred, conveyed, assigned and set over, and by these presents for himself his heirs Executors, and administrators doth fully freely and absolutely, give, grant, bargain, transfer, convey, assign and set over unto his said son Robert Bird Junior all that peice or parcel of Land lying and being in Duplin County on the south side of the Reedy Branch joining the Plantation said Robert Bird Senior now lives on and being part of the same Lands, to wit. Begining at a black gum on the run of Reedy Branch by the mouth of a small branch and runs up said small branch by Michael Birds fence So. 20 Et. 60 pole to a white oake McCallop corner thence with his line So. 36 pole to a pine thence along, said Robert Birds other line So. 70 Wt. 82 pole to a water oake his corner, thence along his other line No. 33 Wt. 36 pole to a dead pine his other corner thence the same course along his other line 64 poles to the run of Reedy Branch thence down the said run as it meanders to the begining containing eighty five acres of Land also one other peice or parcel of Land lying and being in the County of Duplin aforesaid on the south side of Reedy Branch joining the above said peice or parcel of Land and is bounded as follows, to wit. Begining at a dead pine the corner of his old Patent and runs along his old line So. 57 Wt. 128 pole to a pine his corner thence No. 33 Wt. 36 pole to a small white oak and water oak on the run of Reedy branch and thence down the said run as it meanders to the old line and thence along said old line So. 33 Et. 64 pole to the begining containing Forty acres of Land being part of his old Patent and also one other peice or parcel of Land which said Robert Bird Senor. purchased from John Wright lying in the County of Duplin aforesaid on the South side of the Reedy branch, and joining the Last mentioned of Land. Begining at a dead pine the corner of said Byrds old Patent and runs thence So. 18 Wt. 236 pole to a stake on the back line of John Wrights Patent, thence with said line Wt. 160 pole to a pine his corner, thence No. 70 pole to a pine in Reedy Branch, thence No. 35 Et. 150 pole to a pine said Robert Byrds old corner thence with his line to the Begiing containing one hundred and fifty acres. All which sundreys peices or parcels of Land containing in the whole two hundred and seventy five acres of Land. To have and to hold to him the said Robert Byrd Junior all and singular the above given, and granted peices or parcels of Lands and premises, with all and singular the appurtainances previledges, benefits and advantages whatsoever thereon, or thereunto in any wise appurtaining and belonging in as full and ample a manner as he the said Robert Byrd Senior by His grants or Deeds for the same could or might enjoy. And further the said Robert Byrd Senior for himself his heirs, Exers. and admrs. doth covenant promise and agree to and with the said Robert Byrd Junior that he the said Robert Byrd Senior his heirs and assigns shall and may from time to time and at all times hereafter lawfully, peaceably and quietly have, hold, use, occupy, possess and enjoy all and singular the said hereby given and granted Land and premises with the appurtainances thereunto belonging, and further that the said Robert Byrd Senior will warrant secure and forever Defend the said Robert Byrd Junior in the Quiet and peaceable possession of the said Lands and premises from and against him the said Robert Byrd Senior and his heirs Executors and administrators and from and against all and every person or persons whatsoever claiming the same by from or under him them, or any of them. In witness whereof the said Robert Byrd Senior hath hereunto set his hand and seal the day and date first above written. signed sealed and Delivered in presence of Robert Byrd William Dickson Hillary Hooks State of No. Carolina Duplin County July Term 1791 Then was the within Deed proved in open Court by the oath of William Dickson and ordered to be Registered.
