Richard Williams To Watson Burton
Deed 25 acres
This Indenture made the seventeenth Day of November in the nineth year of American
Independence and in the year of our Lord Christ one thousand seven Hundred and Eighty four.
Between Richard Williams of the state of North Carolina and County of Duplin of the one part
and Watson Burton of the same place of the other part Witnesseth that Richard Williams for
Diverse good causes and considerations him thereunto moving but more especially for the
valuable consideration of the sum of three pounds current money of the state aforesaid to
him in hand well and truly paid or secured to be paid by Watson Burton aforesaid before the
Ensealing and Delivery of these presents the Receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath by
these presents given granted bargained sold assigned and set over to the said Watson Burton
his heirs and assigns forever one certain Tract or parcel of Land situate lying and being
in Duplin Conty aforesaid on the north side of Persimmon Branch being the Lower part of FIfty
acres granted by Paten to Henry Seibbow the 23d day of April 1762. Begining at a pine the
first station mentioned in the Paten thence the Paten line No. 41 Wt. 32 poles to a stake
whence the second corner of the Paten formerly stood (said in the Paten to be a pine at the
Distance of of 120 poles) thence the second line of the Paten So. 64 Wt. 32 poles to a black
jack thence So. 41 Et. 147 poles to a maple thence to the first station containing twenty five
acres be the same more or Less. To have and to hold the aforesaid Land and premises with all
the appurtainances to the same belonging or in any wise appurtaining of Every nature or kind
whatever to him the said Watson Burton his heirs and Assigns forever free from all former gifts
grants Mortgages Intails Dower Right or Title of Dower Executions Extents or troubles whatever
given granted or done by him by the said Richard Williams or any other person or persons
whatever by from or under him the said Richard Williams and the said Watson Burton the aforesaid
Land and premises shall and my hanve hold use occupy enjoy and possess as his own free and
Lawfull Inheritance from all Incumberances given granted or Done by him the said Richard Williams
and the said Richard Williams the aforesaid Land and premises to him the said Watson his heirs
and assigns shall and will warrant and forever Defend from and against him the said Richard
Williams his heirs and assigns as also from and against the just and Lawfull claim of all and
every other person or persons whatever who may hereafter Lay any Lawfull claim to the same In
Witness whereof the said Richard Williams hath hereunto set his hand and seal the Date above
written
