Richard Williams To Jeremiah Williams
Deed for 75 acres lands
This indenture made the fifteenth day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand
seven hundred and eighty four between Richard Williams of the State of No. Carolina & County of
Duplin planter, and Jeremiah Williams of the State & County aforesaid of the other part witnesseth,
that the said Richard Williams for divers good and consideration him thereunto moving but more
expecially for the consideration of the sum of one hundred and fifty pounds current money of the
State aforesaid to him in hand well and truly paid by him the said Jeremiah Williams, the receipt
of the same the said Richard Williams doth hereby acknowledge himself to be therewith fully
satisfied contented & paid & hath by these presents given granted bargained sold & set over
unto him the said Jeremiah Williams his heirs & assigns forever, one small tract or parcel of
land it being a part of the said land or plantation whereon he the said Richd. Williams now
liveth on, it being a part of the said land the said Richard Williams purchased from Joseph
Willson and Begining at a red oak his first corner of said land, thence along his said line to
a branch near to a corner tree at Barnet Brock's, thence down the said branch to a water oak,
thence along his said line to the first station, and containing by estimation seventy five acres
be the same more or less, with all the improvements on the said land and premises. To have and
to hold the above bargained land and premises to him the said Jeremiah Williams his heirs and
assigns forever to their only proper use benefit & behoofe, and I the said Richard Williams doth
hereby covenant and agree to warrent and forever defend above mentioned land unto him the said
Jeremiah Williams his heirs and assigns forever, from & against the said Richard Williams his
heirs & assigns as als against & from and against the just & lawfull claim of any other of my
heirs executors administrators or assigns who my lay any claim to the same, and the said Jeremiah
Williams the above bargained lands & premises shall and may have hold use occupie enjoy and
possess as his own free and lawfull inheritance, free from all former gifts grants judgements
intails dowers & rights of dowers or any other incumbrance whatsoever excepting the yearly tax
which shall become due on said land hereafter only the same so laid on lands. In witness
whereof I the said Richard Williams hath hereunto set my hand & seal the day and year first
above written.
