Richard Williams To Abraham Andrews
Deed for 100 acres lands
This indenture made this thirty first day of July one thousand seven hundred and eighty four
between Richard Williams of the County of Duplin and State of No. Carolina of the one part,
and Abraham Andrews of the same County and State aforesaid of the other part. Witnesseth
that the said Richard Williams for divers good causes and consideration him thereunto moving,
but more especially for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred pounds specie to him
in hand paid or secured to be paid before the sealing and delivery hereof the receipt whereof
he doth hereby acknowledge and himself therewith to be fully satisfied and content and thereof
and therefrom doth hereby acquit the aforesaid Abraham Andrews his heirs executors administrators
& assigns, hath bargained sold enfeoffed conveyed and confirmed and doth by these presents for
himself his heirs executors administrators hath and doth fully freely and absolutely bargain
sell enfeoffe convey and forever confirm unto the said Abraham Andrews his heirs and assigns,
one certain tract or parcel of land containing by estimation one hundred acres be the same more
or less, situate lying and being in the above said County & State on the East side of the No.
East Branch of Cape Fear River on Muddy Creek at a place called Stafford's folly. Begining at
a pine by a Branch, thence runing South 15 Et. 35 chains or 140 poles to a gum by a branch,
thence North 75 Et. 28 chains and 29 links to a pine, thence North 15 Wt. 35 chains to a stake,
thence So. 75 Wt. 28 chains and 29 links, thence to the first station, it being a tract of land
granted to Francis Brice by a patent bearing date 1745. To have and to hold the said one
hundred acres of land and premises with the appertenances unto the said Abraham Andrews his
heirs and assigns forever, in as full and ample manner to all intents and purposses as he the
said Richard Williams did might or could have, held the same before the making hereof and the
said Richd. Williams doth hereby promise for himself his heirs executors and administrators
that at the time of sealing and delivery is and stands seized of the said land and premises of
an indefeasable estate of inheritance in fee simple and hath in himself good right full power
and lawfull authority to grant bargain sell convey and forever confirm the said land and
premises and every part and parcel thereof, with their & every of their appurtenances unto the
said Abraham Andrews his heirs and assigns and that from time to time and at all times forever
hereafter he the said Abraham Andrews his heirs and assigns by power and virtue hereof may and
shall enter into have hold and occupy possess and for ever enjoy the said one hundred acres of
land free and clear and freely and clearly acquited discharged saved kept harmless and indemmified
of and from all former & other gifts grants bargains sails enfeoffements will intails jointures
dowers executions intents and incumbrances whatsoever moreover the said Richard Williams doth
for himself his heirs executors and administrators do promise and engage that at any time
hereafter, at the reasonable request of him the said Abraham Andrews his heirs or assigns or
at his or their cost and charges in the law make or cause to be made and duly executed any
further or other deed or instrument of writing for the same making a good and lawful title
to the said land and premises to him the said Abraham Andrews his heirs and assigns forever,
as he the said Abraham Andrews his heirs or assigns or his or their councels learned in the
law, shall advise devise or require, and moreover the said Richard Williams doth covenant and
agree for himself his heirs executors and administrators to and with the said Abraham Andrews
his heirs and assigns to warrent and forever defend the title of the said one hundred acres of
land to him the said Abraham Andrews his heirs or assigns, free from the lawfull clame of him
the said Richard Williams his heirs executors or administrators or any other person whatsoever.
In witness whereof the said Richard Williams hath hereunto set his hand and seal the day and
year first above written.
