Richard Parker To Henry Picket
Deed for 25 acres lands
This indenture made this the fifty day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand
seven hundred and eighty three between Richard Parker of the county of Duplin in the State
of North Carolina of the one part and Henry Picket of the aforesaid County and State of the
other part, Witnesseth that the said Richard Parker for and in consideration of the sum of
ten pounds specie to him in hand well and truly paid by the said Henry Picket, the receipt
whereof he doth hereby acknowledge, and himself therewith to be fully satisfied contented
and paid & of every part and parcel thereof, hath given granted bargained & sold aliend
conveyed confirmed assigned and set over, unto the said Henry Picket his heirs and assigns
forever a cerain piece or parcel of land part of the two hundred acres where the said Richard
parker now lives, and where the late Solomon Parker deed, sittuated lying and being in the
county of Duplin aforesaid on the No. side of Muddy Creek, containing twenty five acres, be
the same more or less. Begining at a gum at said No Side of the Creek & adjoining Henry
Pickets line and runing various courses on said So. side. To have and to hold the said twenty
five acres, be the same mor of less, unto the said Henry Picket his heirs executors
administrators and assigns forever, clear of all incumbrance together with all and singular
the benefits profits priviledges improvements advantages of any kind whatsoever therunto
belonging or in any wise appertaining unto him the said Henry Picket his heirs executors
administrators or assigns forever, and the said Richard Parker doth hereby further covenant
& engage to and with the said Henry Picket his heirs executors and administrators or assigns,
that they shall and may from time to time and at all times hereafter forever, have hold occupy
and enjoy all and singular the said land and premises above mentioned as a good and perfect
estate of inheritance in fee simple, and that without the least let hindrance molestation or
interruption of him the said Richard Parker his heirs or assigns or of any other person or
persons whatwoever by or through any means or procurement of him the said Richard Parker his
heirs or assigns and further the said Richard Parker will warrant & defend the said Henry
Picket his heirs etc. in peacible possession of the said land free from all manner of dower
intails exeutions intents gifts grants mortgages sales leases wills jointures judgements etc.
from the dated present. In witness whereof have hereunto set my hand & seal.
