(Transcribed by Joan S DUnn) Deed Book 12 Page 172, & 173 Richard Bostwick To Charles Bostwick Deed 100 acres land State of North Carolina Duplin County This Indenture made the first day of January one Thousand Eight hundred & thirty one Between Richard Bostwick and Charles Bostwick both of the County & State above written witnesseth that the said Richard Bostwich doth for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred dollars to him in hand paid the rect whereof is hereby acknowledged Bargain sell Enfeoff and confirm unto him the said Charles Bostwich one certain tract or parcil of land lying and being in the County of Duplin on both sides of persimmon Swamp Begining at a red oak on the side of the Swamp and runs so 40 wt 127 poles to a gum saplin in poly Branch thence so 50 Et 127 pole to a Lightwood Stump thence No 40 Et crossing the swamp 127 poles to a pine thence to the Begining containing one hundred acres be the same more or Less to have and to hold the aforesaid tract of land to his only proper use & behoof and the said Richard Bostwich doth be these presents warrant & defend the aforesaid tract of Land with its appurtenances hereditaments &c &c unto him the said Charles Bostwich his heirs and assigns forever against the Lawful claims or demands of all manner of persons In witness whereoff the said Richard Bostwich hath hereunto set his hand and affixed his seal the day and date above written signed sealed & delivered in the presents of Richard Bostwich H Hunter Wm H Hurst State of North Carolina Duplin County Court of please & Quarter Sessions January term 1840 the Execution of the within deed is duly acknowledged in open Court by Richard Bostwich & is ordered to be registered Copy N Routledge rgr test Jas Dickson Clk
