(Transcribed by Joan S Dunn) Deed Book E Page 436, 437, 438, & 439 Rachel and Absolam Masser To John Matchet Deed 100 acres This Indentur made this Twentyeth day of August one thousand seven hundred and Eighty six and in year of our Independence Between Rachel Masser and her son Absolom Masser Both part owners of the same of the County of Duplin and province of No. Carolina of the one part and John Matchet of the same County Merchant and province aforesaid of the other part Witnesseth that the said Rachel Masser and Absolom Masser for and in Consideration of the sum of one hundred pounds Proclimation money to them in hand paid by the said John Matchet the Receipt whereof he doth hereby acknowledged hath granted Bargained sold aliened Released and Confirmed and by these presents for him self his heirs doth Grant Bargain Sell Alien Release and Confirm unto the said John Matchet and to his heirs and assigns forever a Certain Tract or parcel of Land Containing one hundred acres lying and being in Duplin County and province of No. Carolina on the No. East Branch of Cape fair River Joining Serracta or Near Beginning at a pine and Runs Et. 100 poles to a pine thence No. 160 poles to a pine thence No. 100 poles to a Maple in the swamp thence to the Beginning a Straight course together with all houses Gardens fences woods underwoods and waters and water courses standing going an being with all profits commodities advantages and appurtenances to the same belonging or in any wise appurtaining advantages and Appurtainances whatsoever to the same belonging and also the Refordes Remainder and Remainders thereof and of all and every part and parcel thereof To have and to hold the said one hundred acres of Land as above bounded with their and every of their appurtainces unto the said John Matchet his heirs and assigns to the only use and behoof of the said Joh Matchet his heirs and assigns forever and he the said John Matchet his heirs and assigns that he and they shall and may at all times hereafter Peaceably and Quietly hold and Enjoy the said Granted Land and premises Free and Clear from all former Sales Gifts grants Mortgages Rights of Dower any other Incumbrances whatsoever and the said Rachel Masser and Absolom Masser and her and his heirs shall and will warrant and Defend forever the said Granted Land and premises with the appurtainances unto the said John Matchet his heirs and assigns all and every other person or persons that shall Lay any Claim thereunto and farther that he and the said Rachel Masser and Absolom Masser and her and his heirs shall and will within the space of time or times at the Cost and Charges of them the said John Matchet his heirs or assigns Make Do and Execute all such further act of Deed for the better convinying the said Granted Land and premises as the said John Matchet his heirs or assigns shall advis or Require. In witness whereof the parties to the presents their hands and Seals Interchangeable In witness whereof the day and year first above written. Signed Sealed and Delivered In the presence of Rachel Masser John Chambers State of No. Carolina Duplin County January Term 1792 Then was the within Deed proved in open Court by the oath of John Chambers and ordered to be Registered.
