(Transcribed by Joan S Dunn) Deed Book 1 A Page 551 & 552 Patrick Newton To William Wilkinson senr. Bill of sale for negro girl Duplin County State of No. Carolina. Know all men by these presents that I Patrick Newton in County & State aforesaid, in consideration of the sum of seventy pounds to me in hand paid before the signing & delivery of these presents have bargained sold & delivered to William Wilkinson senr. in County & State aforesaid one negro girl named Dizey between three & four years olde which negro girl I do warrant & defend to said Wilkinson & his heirs from the just right title claim or demand of my heirs or any other person whatsoever. As witness my hand and seal this 22nd day of April in the year of our Lord 1788. Patrick Newton Witness David Bunting State of No. Carolina Duplin County April Term 1788.
