Parham Percell To Moses Standley
Deed for 300 acres lands
This indenture made this twenty ninth day of January in the year or our Lord Christ
one thousand seven hundred & eighty four. Between Parham Percell of Duplin County joiner of
the one part & Moses Standley of Wayne County planter of the other part. Witnesseth that the
said Nathan Newell for and in consideration of the sum of twenty six pounds specie to him in
hand paid at or before the ensealing & delivery of these presents, by the said Moses Standley
the receipt whereof he doth hereby acknowledge himself to be paid & fully satisfied, & thereof
do exonerate acquit & wholly discharge the said Moses Standley of and from the same, & every
part & parcel thereof have granted bargained & sold aliened enfeoffed released confirmed & by
these present do grant bargain & sell alien enfeoffe release & confirm unto the said Moses
Standley his heirs & assigns forever a certain tract or parcel of land situate lying & being
in the County of Duplin on the east side of the No. East river & on the north side of Mathews
branch containing three hundred acres be the same more or less, by letters patent bearing date
the tenth day of November in the year of our Lord Christ 1784 as the said patent will remain
on record in the Secretary's office of this State well more fully appear reference being
thereunto had & bounded as follows to wit. Beginin at a pine in said Branch Bagges Bridge &
runs No. 340 pole to a pine, thence Et. 115 pole to a pine James William's corner, thence
with his line So. 180 pole to a white oak, thence with his other line Et. 90 pole to a pine
near Viney's Branch, thence So. 120 pole to a Bay in Matthews Branch, thence as the said
branch meanders to the begining. To have and to hold three hundred acres of land also granted
or intended to be granted & every part and parcel thereof & all the appirtenances previledges
& sommodities to the same belonging or in any wise appertaining, togeather with all the estate
righty title interest claim & demand whatsoever of him the said Nathan Percel to the said Moses
Standley his heirs & assigns forever to the only proper use and behoofe of the said Moses
Standley his heirs & assigns forever, and the said Nathan Newell for himself & heirs doth
covenant promise & grant & agree to & with the said Moses Standley his heirs executors
administrators & assigns that he is & stands now seized of a good & lawfull estate of fee
simple of in & to the above mentioned premises & of in and to every part and parcel thereof
& that the said Moses Standley his heirs & assigns form time to time & at all times forever
hereafter by force and virtue of these presents, lawfully peacebly & quietly enter into have
hold use occupie possess & enjoy the said bargained premises & every part thereof with the
appurtenanaces free & clear freely & clearly acquited exonerated & discharged of and from all
manner of former or other gifts grantes bargains sales leases wills entales jointures dowers
judgments executions incumbrances & extents & the said Nathan Newell for himself & his heirs
doth further covenant grant & agree to & with the said Moses Standley his heirs exrs. &
administrators & assigns that he the said Nathan Newell the said premises & every part and
parcel thereof will warrant & forever defend the same against me my heirs executors &
administrators and against the right title claim or demand of all and every person or persons
whatsoever. In witness whereof Nathan Newell have here unto set his hand & fixed his seal
the day & year above written.
