(Transcribed by Joan S Dunn) Deed Book 1 A Page 57 & 58 Nicholas Bryan To Andrew Wallace Deed of 58 acres of lands This indenture made this 15th of October one thousand seven hundred and eighty three and in the eighth year of our Independence by and between Nicholas Bryan of the State and province of North Carolina in Duplin County, planter of the one part, and Andrew Wallace of the aforesaid State in Duplin County planter of the other part, Witnesseth that he the said Nicholas Bryan for and in consideration of the sum of thirty pounds good and lawful money of the aforesaid State to him in hand paid by said Andrew Wallace at & before the ensealing & delivery of these presents, the receipt and payment whereof is hereby acknowledged, hath given, granted, bargained, sold, aliened, enforsed conveyed and confirmed and by these presents doth give, grant, bargain, sell, alien enfeoff convey and confirm unto him the said Andrew Wallace his heirs and assigns forever, a certain tract of parcel of land, containing fifty eight acres of land in Duplin County lying on a branch of Stocking head Swamp. Begining at a popular & black gum in the branch and runs So. 60 Wt. 100 pole to a pine thence So. 30 Et. 88 pole to a pine by Timothy Murphy's line, thence No. 60 Et. 86 pole to a black gum in the branch, thence to the first station. To have and to hold the said lands tenements heriditaments and premises with all their appertenances unto him the said Andrew Wallace his heirs and assigns forever, and the said Nicholas Bryan doth for himself his heirs & assigns in manner following that is to say that the said Andrew Wallis his heirs and assigns shall and may from time to time & at all times hereafter quietly and peacibly to hove & to hold occupy possess enjoy the pre bargained premises and every part & parsel thereof free and clear of all incumbrance whatsoever & the said Nicholas Bryan doth for himself his heirs & assigns warrant and forever defend sain land and tenements heriditaments and premises with all their appertenances unto him the said Andrew Wallace his heirs & assigns forever, ad against all lawfull claims or demands whatever. In witness whereof he hath hereunto set his hand and seal the day and date first above written. Nicholas Bryan Signed Sealed and delivered in the presence of Joseph Cook State of North Carolina, Duplin County, July Court 1784.
