Knoweth all men by these presents that I Nathan fountain of the County of Duplin, State of No Carolina, have bargained sold & delivered a certain negro man named Emory unto William Hunter Senr of the County of Duplin & State aforesaid for the consideration of five hundred & forty dollars to him in hand paid, I the said Nathan fountain do warrant & forever defend the said negro free & clear from the lawful claim or claims of any person or persons whatsoever laying any claim of any person or persons I the aforesaid Nathan Fountain do bind myself my heirs & assigns free and clear forever to the said William Hunter his heirs and assigns forever, Signed Sealed and Page 540. delivered in presence of us this 18th day of November 1808.
