Mills Mumford six hundred and forty acres of land in Duplin County on the North side of Panther
Swamp on both sides of Bryery Branch. Joining James Dobsons Thomas Sheltons lines and
George Smiths lines. Begining at a pine and lightwood stake near the Calf Marsh and runs Wt.
180 poles to a pine on Dobsons line. Thence No. 20. Wt. 54 poles to a lightwood tree on
Sheltons line. Thence with his line So. 70 Wt. 54 poles to a pine on Sheltons corner. Thence
No. 20 Wt. 68 poles to water oak in the edge of White Oak Branch. Thence So. 70 Wt. 32
poles to a stake on Smiths line. Thence So. 30 Et. 100 poles to a pine Smiths corner.
Thence So. 60 Wt. 130. poles to a red oak his other line. Thence No. 30 Wt. 94 poles to an
oak on Lewis Smiths Line. Thence with his line So. 37 Wt. 111 poles to a pine his corner.
Thence So. 56 Wt. 112 poles to a pine. Thence So. 160 poles to a bay tree in Panter Swamp.
Thence up the swamp So. 60 Et. 225 poles to a red oak on the side of the swamp above the
Mouth of Stirrup. Thence to the begining.
