Michael Glisson four hundred acres of land in Duplin County on both sides of the North
East branch of Cape Fear River joining the lower end of Samuel Johnstons Esqr. three
thousand acre survey. Begining at a stake by the swamp side the place where formerly
stood a hickory the first station of Durham Leighs 200 acre survey that was patened by
George Smith. Thence up the swamp No. 32 Wt. 22 poles to a Hickory by James
Mathew's line. Thence across the river swamp So. 60 Wt. 140 poles to a pine about
twenty poles West of the Alligater Slide. Thence So. 30 Et. 48 poles to a pine sapling.
Thence So. 25 Wt. touching upon Samuel Johnstons three thousand acre survey 134
poles to a stake at Hosepen Branch. Thence down said branch North 60 Et. 80 poles to
a pine & maple. Thence South 30 Et. 124 poles to a black jack. Thence South 160 poles
to a persimon by Sandy run. Thence onto the river swamp No. 60 Et. 136 poles to an
ashe East side the River run. Thence No. 10 Et. about 130 poles along Solomon Carters
line to an old apple tree in a field. Thence North 30 West 130 poles to a gum. Thence
Man Carters line No. 76 Et. 24 poles to a pine. Thence Durham Leighs old line North 20
West 160 poles to the first station.
