Bill of sale for negroes Linda & Lucy

Presents that I Major C. R. Loftin of the County of Wayne do Bargain & sell a certain 
Negro woman named Linda & her child Lucy to William Outlaw Junr for and in consideration 
of seven hundred dollars the rite thereof I warrant and defend to him the said William 
Outlaw Junr his Heirs Executor & assigns what ever this 31st December 1838

The Execution of the within Bill of sale is duly proved in open Court by the oath of Saml 
Loftin the subscribing witness thereto and is ordered to be Registered
