(Transcribed by David Dunn) Mark Rogers } Division of Land State of North Carolina Duplin County In obedience to the annexed Writ as said by the Court of Pleas At Quarter Sessions of the County of Duplin to divide the Land of Mark Rogers between the several Heirs. Mr. Edward I. Williams, Lewis Rouse and Thomas Wright Jr. Commissioners appointed to divide said land and proceeded to divide it in the following manner. Lot No. 1. Beginning at a dead pine thence S0. 22 Et. 38 poles to a Black Jack. Thence So. 40 Wt. 20 down the run of a branch, 74 poles to a gum, thence No. 37 Wt. 22 poles to a stake, thence So. 53 Wt. 40 poles to the run of a branch, thence down a run to a stake in the old line, thence No.30 Wt. 20 poles to a Stake, thence No. 50 Et. 198 Poles to the beginning, containing 35 acres. Also another piece beginning at the head of a branch at a Water Oak thence So. 69 Ea. 150 poles to a pine then So. 2 poles to a pine and ????, then So. 60 Wt. 55 poles to a pine then No. 57 Wt. 110 poles to an Oak then to the beginning containing 25 acres in all 60 acres as Allotted to Sarah Rogers, now wife of John Burns. Lot No. 2 Beginning at a gum in Indico branch ?????, No.22 Wt. 62 poles to a Black Jack So. 40 Wt. down ???? ???? Branch 74 poles to a gum , then no. 27 Wt. 22 Poles to a stake. So. 53 Wt. 40 Poles to the run of a Branch, then down the runn of the line, then So 30 Wt. 42 poles to a gum on the run of the Indico Branch then up the run to the beginning, containing fifty five acres. Also another piece beginning at a White Oak then So.57 Et. 10 poles to a pine thence So. 60 Wt. 32 Poles to a pine then to the beginning containing 10 acres, in all 65 acres, allotted to Elisha Rogers. Lot no. 3 beginning at an old gum on Indico Branch, then up the run of said branch to an old Maple, then No. 60 Et. 62 poles to a pine then So 85 Et. 180 poles to a Blk. Oak, then to the beginning including Fifty nine acres allotted to Zilpha Rogers now wife of William B. Hunt. Lot No 4 beginning at an old Gum on Indico Branch So 25 Et. 24 poles to a Gum thence So 69 Et 160 poles to a pine in the back line, thence No. 108 poles to a Blk Jack and thence to the geginning containing Sixty-Eight Acres allotted to Steaphen Rogers. In witness where of we the commissioners, and the said Sheriff have heron to affixed our hand and seal this 22nd May 1829 & Independence of the United States, the 54th . E.J.
