(Transcribed by Joan S Dunn) Deed Book B-11 Page 14 For Negro Beck Know all men by these presents that I Lewis Outlaw of the County of Duplin & State of North Carolina do for an inconsideration of the sum of three hundred & sixty two dollars bargained & sold and delivered unto B. L. Hill of the State & County aforesaid a nigro girl named Beck about Twelve years of age and the said Outlaw doth covenant & agree to warrant & defend the right & title of said Negro gril from him the said Outlaw his heirs Executors and administrators unto him the said B. L. Hill his heirs & assigns forever In Testimony whereof the said Outlaw doth hereunto set his hand & affixed his seal this 24th day of Jany 1839 Signed sealed & delivered in presents of O. R. Kenan Lewis Outlaw State of North Carolina Duplin County Court of please & Quarter Sessions Jany Term 1839 The Execution of the within Bill of Sale is duly acknowledged in open court by Lewis Outlaw & is ordered to be registered.
