(Transcribed by Joan S Dunn) Deed Book E Page 399, 400, & 401 Lamuel Boyt To Arthur Boyt Deed 150 acres This Indenture made this fourteenth Day of May In the year of our Lord Christ one thousand seven hundred ninety one. Between Lamuel Boyt of the County of Duplin and State of No. Carolin Planter of the one part a Arthur Boyt of the County and State aforesaid Planter of the other part Witnesseth that the said Lamuel Boyt for and in consideration of the sum of Fifty pounds specie unto him in hand paid before the signing sealing and Delivering of these presents by the said Arthur Boyt whereof I do hereby acknowledge my self fully satisfied contented and paid and of every part & parcel thereof and I the said Lamuel Boyt have given granted Bargained and Sold and confirm unto hime the said Lamuel Boyt, a certain Tract or parcel of Land Containing one hundred and fifty acres more or less lying and being in the County and State aforesaid on the No. side of the grove swamp and upper side of Ashe Branch Beginning at a Red oad Jesse Jernagans Corner by a small Branch thence running along his line So. 70 Et. to a pine near the head of a small Branch Lamuel Boyts Corner Thence to a Maple on the head of the little Huccleberry mark, Thence to a pine on B. Bests line at Denises Branch thence with the same line to the Corner at a pine thence to the Beginning. The said Arthur Boyt to have and to hold the aforesaid Bargained Land and premises Thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining to the only proper use benefit and behoof of him the said Arthur Boyt his heirs and assigns forever free and clear from all Mortgages Dowers Judgements Executors and all other Incumbrances of any kind whatsoever, and farther more I the said Lamuel Boyt do for my self my heirs Executors administrators and assigns, warrant and forever Defend the aforesaid Land and premises unto the said Arthur Boyt his heirs and assigns forever all and singular the appurtatances to the same belonging or in any wise appertaining from the Lawfull Claim of any person or persons whatsoever and the said Arthur Boyt his heirs and assigns to have and to hold the aforesaid Bargained Land and premises together with all the appertainances thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining—according to the true Intent and meaning of these presenst—Whereunto I have hereunto set my hand and fixed my seal the day and Date above written. Signed Sealed and Delivered In the presence of us Lamuel Boyt William Boyt Efram Boyt State of No. Carolina Duplin County January Term 1792 Then was the within Deed proved in open Court by the oath of William Boyt and ordered to be Registered.
