John Sullivan Sr. to John Sullivan Sr.200 acres.
This indenture made this the 17th day of September in the year of 1793 in the seventeenth
year of American Independence betwixt and between John Sullivan Senior And John Sullivan
Junior both of the county of Duplin and State of North Carolina hither to forth know ye that I
the said John Sullivan Senior for the natural love and affection I have and doth bear for my
son John Sullivan Junior hath swore here by this presents gave grant clear forever confirm
unto the said John Sullivan Junior one tract or parcel of land lying and being in the county
of Duplin and State of North Carolina and on the North side of Goshen Swamp and on the
heads of Rooty Branch, Ball Ned’s Branch and Ned’s Marsh Branch beginning at a pine
on one of the lines between a Spanish oak and Brocks Corner and on the corner of the
survey a pine and runs South 60 West to a pine the Brocks Corner thence with his other
line North 30 West and 30 poles to a pine tree South 65 West to a pole to a pine tree and
John Sullivan’s due East Line. Thence South 45 poles to a stake his corner thence West
63 poles to a stake thence South to a pine a made corner of John Sullivan Senior and
Sustron Stroud and Simpson Grimmes. Line thence along a slight line through the patent
the beginning corner. Consisting two hundred acres be the same owner for life being part
of a Survey of 1790 patented by John Sullivan Senior including the improvement where
Sustron Stroud now lives to have and to hold the above mentioned land and premises
with all appointment there unto belonging to him the said John Sullivan Junior, his heirs,
executors, ?, or assigns forever and I the said John Sullivan Senior doth cancel my heirs,
exec assigns forever to warrant secure right or domain to John Sullivan Junior his heirs or
assigns forever to warrant secured and forever defend the same land mentioned above
clear of all wills, mortgages or rights of donor or any other encumbrances forever. Only
one lease expected and that I will at anytime forever here after give ay other deed or any
instrument of writing to him the same John Sullivan Junior at the reasonable request of
him for the better right or both to said land or premises as whatsoever is witnessed hereof.
I have there with set my hand and seal this date as first above mentioned
