(Transcribed by Joan S Dunn) Deed Book 1 A Page 8 & 9 Joseph Wilson to Richard Williams Deed of 200 acres of lands To all people whom these presents shall come. Know ye that I Joseph Wilson of Duplin County and State of North Carolina, planter, and in consideration of two hundred pounds specie to me in hand paid by Richard Williams of said State and County aforesaid, planter, have given, granted bargained, sold, aliened, enrossed, and confirmed, and by these presents do freely fully and absolutely five, grant, bargain, sell, alien, enfeoss convey and conform unto the said Richard Williams his heirs and assigns one certain plantation of part of a small tract of land, situate lying & being in the County and State aforesaid between himself & Mirdy Creek, it being the upper half of four hundred acres granted unto Charles Cox, pattin bearing date this 20th day of April 1744 it being the half of the above mentioned 400 acres equally divided between the wodow of the deceased Charles Cox and the child Ann Cox than orphans of the then deceased Charles Cox and the possessed by him the above said Joseph Wilson greatly and peacibly ever since the year 1750, without the least let or hindrance and still being in my quait possession Viz: Begining at a red oak first station of said tract of plantation, thence running along the paten line Et. 55 chains to a pine in a holow an other corner of the patent, thence along the head line of the patent So. 27 Et. 33 chains to a small pine by a small branch, thence down a dividing line West 55 to a stake in the front pattnd. line and along the said tract No. 27 West 33 chains to the first station, containing 200 acres be the same more of less together with all the buildings, fences, orchards bearing trees timber and timber trees houses barns stables and gardens & waters and waters courses priviliges appurtenances advantages and commotrings to the same belonging or in any wise appurtaining to him the said Richard Wiliams his heirs and assigns forever to his and their only proper use benefit and behoof forever and I the said Joseph Wilson for myself my heirs and assigns do covenant promise & grant to and with the said Richard Williams his heirs and assigns that at and before the ensealing hereof do hereby do grant bargain sell and convey and confirm the said premises unto the said Richard Williams his heirs & assigns in manner aforesaid shall and may from time to time and at all times have hold use occupy possess and enjoy the above bargained premises and every part thereof without any set molestation or trouble of me the said Joseph Wilson my heirs executors administrators or assigns or any of them forever. In witness wherein I have hereunto set my hand and fixed my seal this 10th day of January in the year of our Lord Anni Domnoi 1783.
