(Transcribed by Joan S Dunn) Deed Book E Page 173, 174, & 175 Joseph Williams To Pheba Williams Deed 100 acres This Indenture made the 14th day of Febuary in the thirteenth year of American Independence and In the uear of our Lord one thousand seven Hundred and Eighty nine. Between Joseph Williams of the County of Duplin and State of North Carolina of the one part and his Daughter Pheba Williams of the other part. Witnesseth that the said Joseph Williams hath given granted and confirmed and by these presents doth give grant and confirm untot he said Pheba Williams and the Lawfull begotten Heirs of her Body a certain peice of Land lying and being in the County of Duplin in said state and Branch of Rockfish called James swamp Alias Williams Mill Creek Begining at a great white oak marked with a gread R just below the Mill day by the edge of the run of the said swamp Runing thence Et. to the west out to the back line thence So. 23 Et. 45 chains to a lightwood tree the old corner thence No. 67 Et. to the Run of the swamp thence up the meanders of the same to the first station supposed to contain one Hundred acres less or more it being part of the two hundred acres patent by said Joseph Williams in the year 1756. Together with all and singular the woods underwoods profits comodities Emoluments & Heridittaments whatsoever to the premises belonging and also all the Right title Interest claim and demand of him the said Joseph William of in and to the said premises and every part thereof. To have and to Hold the said Land and premises and every part thereof with the appurtainances unto the said Phebe Williams and the Lawfull begotten heirs of her Body forever & the said Joseph Williams for himself his heirs and assigns do hereby warrant and defend the above given Land and premises untot he said Phebe Williams and the lawfull Begotten Heirs of her Body forever against the Lawful claim or cliams of any person or persons claiming by from or under one or my Heirs In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the day and date first above written. signed sealed and Delivered In Presence of Joseph Williams John Williams David Williams State of No. Carolina Duplin County April Term 1791 Then was the within Deed acknowledged in open Court and ordered to be Registered.
