(Transcribed by Joan S Dunn) Deed Book E Page 266, 267, & 268 Joseph Dickson To James Dickson Deed 60 acres This Indenture made the Tenth day of June in the twelth year of American Independence and in the year of our Lord one thousand seven Hundred and Eighty eight. Between Joseph Dickson of the state of North Carolina and County of Duplin (Surveyer) of the one part, and James Dickson Planter of the same place of the other part, (Witnesseth) That for and in consideration of the sum of Ten pounds currency of said state to him in hand well and truly paid by James Dickson aforesaid, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, Hath given granted bargained and sold aliened enfeoffed conveyed confirmed assigned and set over, and by these presents for himself his heirs Executors administrators, Doth fully freely and absolutely give grant bargain sell alien Enfeoffe convey confirm assign and sett over unto the said James Dickson his Heirs and assigns a certain Tract or parcel of Land sittuate lying and being in the County of Duplin aforesaid on the North side of Maxwell Swamp and west side of Folley branch. Begining at a poplar Maple and Gum at Folley run thence the Patent line No. 45 West 80 poles to a poste Thos. Heaths corner Near a bent of the road, thence to and with the road & Thomas Heaths line North 42 Et. 128 poles to a pine & black jack on the side of the road Thomas Heaths corner, thence South 115 Et. 62 poles to a poplar & gum on the run of Folley at the Mouth of Wolfpitt branch. Thence down the run of Folly as it Meanders to the Begining. Containing sixty acres be the same more or Less. To have and to hold the aforesaid Land and premises with all the appurtainances thereunto belonging or in any wise appurtaining to him the said James Dickson his heirs and assigns forever. Free from all former gifts grants Mortgages Intails Dowers right or Title of Dower or any Incumbrance whatever done or suffered to be done by him the said Joseph Dickson or any other person by from or under him and the said Joseph Dickson the aforesaid Land and premises shall and will warrant and forever Defend to him the said James Dickson his heirs and assigns, as also from and against the just and Lawful claim of any other person or persons whatever who may hereafter Lay any Lawfull claim to the same In Witness whereof the said Joseph Dickson hath hereunto set his hand and seal the day and Date first above written. signed sealed and Delivered In presence of us Joseph Dickson James Heath Charles Huggins State of No. Carolina Duplin County July Term 1791 Then was the within Deed acknowledged in open Court and ordered to be Registered.
