(Transcribed by Joan S Dunn) Deed Book 1 A Page 441, 442, & 443 John Wright To Robert Byrd Deed for 150 acres lands This indenture made the nineth day of October, in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred & eighty seven. Between John Wright of the State of North Carolina & County of Duplin of one part & Robert Byrd of the same place on the other part witnesseth, that the said John Wright for and in consideration of the sum of five pounds current money to him in hand well and truly paid by the said Robert Byrd, the receipt whereof he doth hereby acknowledge & himself thereunto to be fully satisfied & contented & paid & of every part and parcel thereof doth exonerate acquit and discharge the said Robert Byrd his heirs executors & administrators forever, by these presents he the said John Wright hath bargained sold conveyed & confirmed unto the said Robert Byrd his heirs and assigns, and by these presents for himself his heirs executors and administrators doth covenant grant bargain sell and convey & confirm unto the said Robert his heirs and assigns forever, all that messuage tract or parcel of land, lying and being in the County ofr Duplin on the south side of Goshen between the Reedy Branch & the heads of the Poley Branch, joining said Robert Byrd's own land. Begining at a p0ine Robert's old corner & runs with his line No. 57 Et. 126 pole to pine his other corner, thence along a dividing line So. 18 Wt. 320 bpole to a stake by a marked pine on the back line, thence along said line West, to a pine the patent corner in a pond, thence No. 70 poles to a pine in the Reedy Branch by Thomas Gray's line, & thence along his line to the begining, containing in the whole one hundered & fifty acres be the same more or less, it being the upper half of a patent of 300 acres granted to said John Wright bearing date the fifteenth day of December Anno Domini 1778, reference being thereunto had may more fully appear. To have and to hold to him the said Robert Byrd his heirs & assigns forever, together with all previledged benefits & advantages whatsoever thereon or thereunto in any wise belonging or appertaining in as full and ample manner as he the said John Wright, by his grant for the same could or might enjoy & that free and clear and freely & clearly acquitted & discharged of and from the just & lawfull claim or claims of him the said John Wright his heirs executors administrators or assigns or of any of them. In witness whereof he the said John Wright hath hereunto set his hand and fixed his seal the day & date first above written. John Wright Signed sealed & delivered in the presents of us W. Dickson Stephen Barfield State of No. Carolina Duplin County October Term 1787. Then was the within deed proved in open Court by the oath of W. Dickson & ordered to be registered. Test W. Dickson, C.
