John Winders To Jesse Swinson
Deed for 100 acres lands
This indenture made this elevent day of November in the year of our Lord one thousand
seven hundred & eighty six. Between John Winders of the County of Duplin & State of No.
Carolina of the one part & Jesse Swinson of the County & State aforesaid son in law of the
said John Winders of the other part Witnesseth that the said John Winders as well for and in
consideration of the natural love and affection which he beareth to the said Jesse Swinson
his son in law as also for the better maintainence & preferrment of the said Jesse Swinson,
hath given granted aliend & confirmed, and by these presents doth give grant alin & confirm
unto the said Jesse Swinson or that messuage or tenement lying & being in the County of Duplin
near a place caled the Wolf scrape in the forks of the No. East of Cape Fear, on the head of
Bear Marsh. Begining at a large pine below said marsh, thence runing No. 52 Et. 31 chains &
64 links to a pine, No. 66 Wt. 36 chains to a small pine, South 52 Wt. 31 chains & 64 links
to a pine, thence to the first station, containing one hundred acres, granted to Joseph
Winders, patent bearing date the third day of October 1755, & now conveyed by the said John
Winders as by this deed of gift doth appear, with all and singular the appurtenances & all
houses & out houses orchards way waters & water courses & the reversion & reversions &
remainders rents & services of the said premises & all the estate right title interest
property claim & demand whatsoever of him the said John Winders of in & to the tenement &
premises & of in and to every part & parcel thereof, with the appurtenences & all deeds
evidences & writings, concerning the said premises only now in the hands or custody of the
said John Winders or which he may get or come by without suit in law. To have and to hold
the said messuage or tenement lands & premises hereby given & granted or mentioned or
intended to be given or granted unto the said Jesse Swinson his heirs or assigns to the only
proper use & behoofe of him the said Jesse Swinson his heirs & assigns forever & the said
John Winders for himself his heirs executors and administrators doth covenant & grant to &
with the said Jesse Swinson his heirs & assigns by these presents, that he the said Jesse
Swinson his heirs & assigns shall and lawfully may from time forth forever hereafter,
peacebly & quietly have hold occupie possess & enjoy the said messuage tenement lands
heriditaments & premises hereby given & granted & mentioned or intended to be with their
appurtenances, free and clear & discharged of & from all former or other gifts grants
bargains & sails feoffment intails dowers estates entails, rents, rent charges arearages
of rents & of & from all other titles troubles charges & incumbrances whatsoever had made
committed done or suffered to be had made committed done or suffered by him the said John
Winders his heirs exrs. or administrators or any other person or persons lawfully claiint
or to claim by from or under him or them or any of them. In witness whereof the said John
Winders hath hereunto set his hand & seal the day & date above written.
