(Transcribed by Joan S Dunn) Deed Book E Page 450, & 451 John Williams & Jeremiah Williams To Sarah Williams Bill of Sale for a Negroe Girl North Carolina Duplin County Know all men by these presents that I John Williams of the County of Duplin County and province abovesaid But now lives in Onslow do Bargain Sell and Deliver unto Sarah Williams of the above said province and of the County of Duplin one Negroe girl named Hannah aged Thirteen years old for the consideration of the Sum of Seventy pounds Specie more to John Williams Before the sealing and Delivering of these present the Receipt of same I do acknowledge myself to be truly and fully contented Satisfied and paid for the same and I the said John Williams do warrant and forever Defend the said Negroe girl Hannah unto the said Sarah Williams her heirs or assigns forever from all Lawfull Claims whatsoever. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and fixed my seal this Sixth day of May 1791. Jacob Williams John Williams Jeremiah Williams State of No. Carolina Duplin County January Term 1792 Then was the within Bill of Sale proved in open Court by the oath of Jacob Williams and ordered to be Registered.
