(Transcribed by Joan S Dunn) Deed Book 1 A Page 340, 341, & 342 John Thompson To Moses Standley Deed for 300 acres lands This indenture made this twenty ninth day of March in the year of our Lord Christ one thousand seven hundred & eighty three. Between John Thompson of Duplin County planter of the one part & Moses Standley of Wayne County planter of the other part. Witnesseth, that the said John Thompson for & in consideration of the sum of forty pounds specie to him in hand paid at and before the sealing & delivery of these presents by the said Moses Standley the receipt whereof he does hereby acknowledge himself to be paid & fully satisfied & thereof do exonerate acquit & discharge the said Moses Standley of and from the same & every part and parcel thereof, have granted bargained and sold aliend enfeoffed released & confirmed & by these presents do grant bargain & sell enfeoffe release & confirm unto the said Moses Standley his heirs & assigns forever, a certain tract or parcel of land sittuate lying & being in the County of Duplin on the east side of the No. East River & on both sides of the great Branch, containing in the whole three hundred acres being granted unto the said John Thompson & his heirs by letters pattend bearing date the tenth day of November in the year of our Lord Christ one thousand seven hundred & eighty four, as by the said patten remaining of record in the secretary's office of this State will more fully appear, reference being thereunto had & bounded as follows, to wit. Begining at a pine on the south side of the branch on or near Bibby Bushe's line, & runs North 220 poles crossing the great Branch to a pine on a drane of the said Branch, thence Et. 220 pole to a pine thence South 220 poles crossing the spring branch to a pine in the north side of the great branch, thence to the begining. To have to hold the said three hundred acres of land above granted, or intended to be granted & every part & parcel thereof & all the appurtenances purviledges & commodities to the same belonging or in any wise appertaining togeather with all the estate right title interest claim & demand whatsoever of him the said John Thompson to the said Moses Standley his heirs & assigns forever to the only proper use & behoof of the said Moses Standley his heirs & assigns forever & the said John Thompson for himself his heirs doth covenant promise grant & agree that he is & stands now seized of a good & lawfull estate of fee simple of in and to the above mentioned premises & of in & to every part & parcel thereof, & that the said Moses Standley his heirs & assigns from time to time & at all times forever hereafter by force & virtue of these presents, lawfully peacebly & quietly enter into have hold use occupie & enjoy the said bargained premises & every part & parcel thereof, with the appurtenances free & clear freely & clearly acquitt exonerated & discharged of and from all & all manner of former or other gifts grants bargains sails leases wills intales jointures dowers judgements executions incumbrances & extents & the said John Thompson for himself his heirs doth further covenant grant & agree to & with the said Moses Standley his heirs executors & administrators & assigns that he the said John Thompson the said premises & every part thereof will warrant & forever defend against the right title claim & demand of all & every person or persons whatsoever. In witness whereof the said John Thompson have hereunto set his hand & affixed his seal the day & year first above written. John Tomson Signed sealed acknowledged & delivered in the presence of Wm.
