John Rivenbark To Daniel Boney
Deed for 100 acres lands
This indenture made the ninth day of July in the ninth year of American Independence,
and in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and eighty five between John Rivenbark
of the State of North Carolina & County of New Hanover County of the one part, and Daniel Boney
of the said State & County of Duplin of the other part. Witnesseth that the said John Rivenbark
for divers good causes and considerations him thereunto moving, but more especialy for the
valluable consideration of the sum of twenty pounds current money of the State aforesaid to him
in hand well & truly paid or secured to be paid by Daniel Boney aforesaid before the ensealing
delivery of these presents, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, hath by these presents
given granted bargained sold assigned and set over to the said Danl. Boney his heirs & assigns
forever, one hundred acres of land on Farises Branch. Begining at a pine by said branch & runs
So. 7 Wt. 36 chains to a pine, thence So. 83 Et. 28 chains 78 links to a pine, thence No. 7 Et.
36 chains to a stake, thenc to the first station, the said John Rivenbark dith hereby sell
convey to the said Daniel Boney his heirs and assigns forever, to them & their only proper use
benegit & behoofe and I the said John Rivenbark for myself my heirs executors & administrators
do covenant promise & grant to and with the said Daniel Boney his heirs & assigns that before
the ensealing hereof I and the true sole and lawfull owner of the above bargained land and
premises and am lawfully seized and possess of the same in own proper right as a good perfect
and absolute estate of inheritance in fee simple in manner as abovesaid and that the said Daniel
Boney his heirs and assigns shall and may from time to time & as all times forever hereafter by
force and virtue of these presents lawfully peacebly and quietly have hold use occupie possess
and enjoy the said demised and bargained premises with all the appurtenances free and clear &
freely & clearly acquited exonerated and discharged off from all and all manner of former or
other gifts grants bargains sales leases wills mortgages entails jointures judgements executions
or any other incumbrances whatsoever hereafter becomes due, furthermore I the said John Rivenbark
for myself my heirs and assigns do covenant to & with the said Daniel Boney his heirs & assigns
to warrent & defend the said premises against the lawfull claim of any person or persons
claiming or to claim through me my heirs & assigns or any of us. In witness whereof I have
hereunto set my hand & fixed my seal this ninth day of July 1785.
