(Transcribed by Joan S Dunn) Deed Book E Page 51, 52, & 53 John Megee To Ebenezer Garison Deed 650 acres This Indenture made this second day of September in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety Between John Megee of the County of Duplin and State of North Carolina planter of the one part and Ebenezer Garison of the County State and occupation aforesaid of the other part. Witnesseth that the said John Megee for and in consideration of the sum of thirty two pounds ten shillings specie the receipt of which he doth here by acknowledge and himself satisfied and content there with Have bargained sold aliend and conveyed unto said Ebenezer Garison Two tract of parcel of Land situate in the County of Duplin aforesaid on the west side of muddy creek swamp viz. One tract containing two hundred acres Beging at a black gum in the side of the swamp in the mouth of the Marsh Branch William Megee's Corner when surveyed runing along his line No. 80 West 240 pole to a pine his corner thence So. 60 Wt. 110 pole to a stake on James Blakes line Thence along his line So. 73 Et. 50 pole to a pine his corner thence So. 55 E. 280 to a pine by the Little pocoson thence up muddy Creek swamp to the begining by Estimation two hundred acres be the same more or less Patented the Eleventh of December 1770- one other Tract containing four hundred and fifty acres by Estimation be the same more or less Begining at a Gum the lower Corner of the mill survey and runs partly down the swamp with the open line of the above Bargained Two hundred acres survey a course of a bout South seventeen West Two hundred and eighty polse to a pine the corner thereof by a little posocon thence the other line of said survey No. 65 West 280 pole to a pine Blake's Corner Thence his line So. 48 Wt. 62 poles to a pine Thence South 55 East Two hundred poles to a pine Thence South 13. East 164 poles to a white oak thence So. 50 Et. Crossing the swamp 140 poles to a water oak and pissimon tree South Edge of the swamp thence up the swamp with the meanders of the high ground on or near the lines of John Farrior Job Thigpen and John Woodward to the corner of said Megees fifty acres survey thence that line North sixty West to the first station. All which Lands and premises said John Megee doth for himself his heirs Executors and administrators covenant grant sell and convey to the said Ebenezer Garison his heirs Executors admrs. and assigns forever to the only proper use and behoofe of said Ebenezer Garison his heirs and assigns forever and that the said Ebenezer Garison his heirs and assigns shall and may from time to time and at all times hereafter Have Hold possess and enjoy all and singular the above bargined Land & premises without any Interruption trouble or molestation of him the said John Megee his heirs Executors and admrs. or any other person or persons whatever said Ebenezer Garison paing the Tax as the Law may require on the same and the said John Megee doth warrant and forever defend said Lands and premises free and clear from all Bargains Sales, Gifts, Grants Mortgages or Executions and Every kind of Incumberance whatever according to the True Intent and meaning of these presents in witness whereof he the said John Megee doth set his hand & affix his seal the day and date first written. Signed sealed and Delivered John Megee in presents of James Pickett Joseph Merrill State of North Carolina Duplin County October Term 1790 Then was the within Deed proved in open Court by the oath of Joseph Merrill and ordered to be registered.
