(Transcribed by Joan S Dunn) Deed Book E Page 96, & 97 John McGee To John Farrior Bill of Sale State of No. Carolina Duplin County April 17th 1790. Know all men by these presents that I John McGee of the State and County aforesaid. Have fully Bargained & sold & Delivered unto John Farrior of the same State and County aforesaid one Negroe fellow named Cagdon for and in consideration of the sum of fifty pounds specie to me in hand paid before the sealing and Delivering of this Negroe Cagdon to said John Farrior free from the Just and Lawfull Claim of the same of me my heirs Exrs. administrators or assigns or anyother person or persons Laying Just or Lawfull claim thereunto In testimony whereof I the said John McGee have hereunto set my hand and Fixt my seal the Date first above written. William Farrior John McGee State of No. Carolina Duplin County October Term 1790 Then was the within Bill of Sale proved in open Court by the oath of William Farrior and ordered to be Registered.
