No. 1223

Granted to John Lanier fifty acres of land in Duplin County on the Et. side of the No. Et.
river and between Muddy creek and Linears Swamp.  Begining at a young Cypress on the South
side of the run of Laniers Swamp.  Thence No. 46 Wt. 60 poles to a pine on a path his corner
Thence Joseph Grimes's line South 47 Wt. 114 poles to a stake on Willifords line over and 
near a Small branch.  Thence Willifords line South 60 Et. 88 poles to a Holley water oak &
maple on the run of said Laniers Swamp.  Thence up the meanders thereof to the begining.
