(Transcribed by Joan S Dunn) Deed Book E Page 32, 33, 34, & 35 John Land To Renatus Land Deed 225 acres State of No. Carolina Duplin County This Indenture made this tenth Day of Sept. In the year of our Lord one thousand seven Hundred and Eighty Eight and the thirteenth year of our Independence. Between Renatus Land and John Land both of the said County and State aforesaid Witnesseth that he the said John Land for and in consideration of the sum of forty pounds specie to him in hand paid by the said Renatus Land the Receipt whereof he the said John Land hereby acknowledge himself to be there with fully contented satisfied and paid and every part thereof doth fully freely & absolutely aquit Exonerate and discharge him the said Renatus Land his heirs and assigns forever I have given granted bargained sold and by these presents do freely fully and absolutely give grant bargain sell allinate Enfeoffe convey assign and forever make over & confirm unto him the said Renatus Land his heirs and assigns a certain plantation tract or parcell of Land containing two hundred and twenty five acres being part or a patin of four hundred & twenty five acres taken up by Robert Land and pattand August 31, 1766 in the County of Duplin. Begining at a water oak by the swamp Thomas Laniers upper corner and Runs with his Line No 35 Et 98 poles to a pine at the head of the Long Branch thence No. 200 poles to a pine and the joining is one line of is other paten where he now lives to have and to hold unto the said Renatus Land his heirs and assigns forever together with all Improvements appertainances thereunto and to the only proper use Benefit and Behalf of him the said Renatus Land his heirs Execr. Admrs. and assigns forever and the said John Land Doth for himself his heirs Execr. and admrs. Covenant grant and agree to and with him the said Renatus Land his heirs and assigns that he and they shall from time to time and at all times forever hereafter hold use occupy possess and Enjoy the aforesaid Bargained premises and every part and parcel thereof without the Least Interruption molistation or hinderance of him the said John Land his heirs or assigns or any other person or persons whatsoever and further that he the said John Land his heirs Execrs. adms. and assigns shall and will from time to time and at all times forever hereafter make for and Execute all theasonable of him the said Renatus Land his heirs or assigns all such further coveyants and asshureances in the Law for the more parfect asshureing and conveying the aforesaid pieces of Land and premises unto the said Renatus Land his heirs and assigns forever by ye said Renatus Land Etorney Larned in the Law shall be Devised advised on Required and Law and Lastly that he the said John Land his heirs Execrs. and admrs. shall and will forever hereafter warrent and Defend the said Peice of Land with the appertainance premises and previledges thereunto belonging or any ways appertaining unto him he said Renatus Land his heirs Execrs. admrs. and assigns against all manner of former or other gifts grants sales leasses useses will Dowreys Entails Covenants Mortgages or Judgments or other Incumberances what Nature or hand so ever by one the said John Land or any other person or persons whatsoever or whomsoever laying and Lawfull Claim thereunto or any part or parcel thereof In as full and ample a manner as any Lands are holden In this government In witness whereof I the said John Land have hereunto set my hand and fixt my seal this day and year above written. signed and sealed and John Land Delivered in the present of us Test John Lanier Sr. Robert Cole State of No. Carolina Duplin County July Term 1790 Then was the within Deed proved in open Court by the oath of John Lanier & ordered to be registered Test W. Dickson C.C.
