Duplin county deed Book 23, page 327
This indenture made the 26th day of November A.D. 1859 between John Kenneday
of State of North Carolina and County of Duplin County of first party and Jesse R.
Kenneday of the place of the second party. We oath that for consideration of the
natural love, goodwill and affection which I do said party of the of the first party
have and bear unto the said Jesse T. Kenneday of the second part as my son, and for
the further consideration of the sum of one dollar tome in hand paid the receipt
whereof is hereby acknowledge and myself satisfied and parta have given granted
bargain and sold and conveyed and by their presence I oath give good bargain sell
coming unto the said Jesse T. Kenneday his heir and assigns forever. And I the said
party of the first part for myself my heirs and that and will warrant and forever
defend the better of said of said describe lands and Tennant unto the said party of
the second for his heirs and assigns forever from lawful claim or claims of any and
all persons., wherever resulting have made to myself and wife, Mary Kenneday and
our life estate on and to the premise above described. In written of whereof I have
here unto set my hand and seal day and year above written signed sealed and
delivered in presence of us.
