John Hart To Jeptha Daniel
This Indenture made this 6th day of November In the year of our Lord one Thousand
seven hundred and Eighty Eight. Between John Hart of the one part and Jeptha Daniel of
the other part Witnesseth that the said John Hart for and in consideration of the sum of
Forty Pounds specie to him in hand paid before the sealing and Delivering of these presents
The Right whereof he doth fully and freely acknowledge, hath given granted bargained sold
aliened conveyed and confirmed and by these presents doth give grant bargain sell alien
convey and confirm unto the said Jeptha Daniel his heir and assigns forever a certain Tract
or parcel of Land lying and being in the County of Duplin on the North side of GOshen Swamp
and including part of the place called the Lake Land Begining at a white oake on Westins
line near pompus pocoson Runing So. 85 Et. 180 pole crossing the Road to a pine on Husks
line thence no. 20 Et. 60 pole to a pine the Begining of the Land. The said John Hart sold
to Jesse Cook and thence long Cooks line to the given line of the Paten and with the same
to the first station being half of the contents of a paten granted to Jesse Barfield bearing
date the first day of April 1780 conveyed through several hands to the said John Hart and
now by him conveyed to Jeptha Daniel as by his Deed doth fully appear. To have and to hold
the said bargained premises together with all Houses orchards Fences ways waters and water
courses heridittaments profist commodities or advantages unto the same belonging or in any
wise appurtaining and the Jeptha Daniel his heirs and assings shall and may from time to
time and at all times forever hereafter by free virtue of these presents Lawfull peaceably
and quietly have hold occupy possess and enjoy the said bargained premises freely and against
and Discharges from all former or other gifts grants bargains sails wills Leases Mortgages
Intails Dowers and rights and Dowers of right or any Incumbrances whatsoever and the said
John Hart doth covenant to and with the said Jeptha Daniel that he hath made profitable Estate
of Inheritance in of and to the said premises and hath full power and Lawful authority to
sell and Dispose of the same above and doth warrant and forever Defend the said premises unto
the said Jeptha Daniel his heirs and assigns forever from the Lawfull Claim of the said John
Hart his heirs Executors administrators and assigns and every of them and from all and all
manner of person or persons whatsoever. In witness whereof I the said John Hart hath hereunto
set my hand and seal the day and Date above written.
