John Halso To Stephen Halso

Deed of 100 acres of lands

	This indenture made first day of July in one thousand seven hundred and eighty four 
between John Halso of Duplin County and State of North Carolina planter send greeting.  Know 
ye that I the sd. John Halso doth hereby freely give unto Stephen Halso a certain tract or 
parcel of land containing on hundred acres let the same be more or less, lying and being in 
our County of Duplin in our State of North Carolina and on the east side of the North East 
River on the north side of Cypress Creek, and both sides of Halso swamp, and past of his own 
land, begining at a stake at his own plantation from thence crossing the said swamp to a pine 
from thence Et. to a pine, from thence across the swamp So. to a pine, from thence Wt. to the 
frist station.  To have and to hold the said land with all its improvements & previliges to the 
same belonging or otherwise appertaining to him the said Stephen Halso his heirs & assigns 
forever, and that the said John Halso at the ensealing & delivering of these presents hath a 
good right and careful authority to bargain & give the same in mention as above unto the said 
Stephen Halso his heirs and assigns forever, the said John Halso for himself his heirs executors
administrarors doth further promise and warrant that the said land and premises is free & clear 
from the lawful claims or challings dowries or demands of any persons whatsoever, and the same 
will warrant & deune and defend unto Stephen Halso his heirs & assigns forever.  In witness 
whereof I have hereunto set my hand and fixed my seal the date above mentioned.

State of North Carolina, Duplin County, July Court 1784.
There was the within deed proved in Open Court by the oath of John Lanier and ordered 
to be registered.
