John Grimsly To Mary Grimsly To E Cobb
Deed for 55 acres
State of North Carolina Duplin County
This Indenture made this 19th of August in the year of our Lord one Thousand Eight
hundred and thirty six between John Grimsly and Mary Herring of the one part & County
aforesaid & E Cobb of the other part & County of Wayne witnesseth that for and in
consideration of the sum of Fifty dollars to us in hand paid before the signing &
delivering of these presents by the said E Cobb do bargain sell and convey to the
said E Cobb one certain tract or messuage of land the Receipt whereof is hereby
acknowledged by us the said John Grimsly and Mary Herring Butted and bounded as
follows Begining at a poplar & black gum in the Miery Branch and runs west 84 poles
to a pine thence south 11 west 109 pole to a pine then So 100 pole to a black gum
and poplar in the said Miery Branch then down the various of the run to the Begining
containing fifty five acres more or less to have and to hold the aforesaid Lands
premises minerals and mines adn appurtenances then unto belonging to him the said
E Cobb his heirs and assigns forever and the said John Grimsly and Mary Herring doth
for their parts bind themselves their Heirs and assigns forever to warrant and forever
defend the Right title interest and claim to the said E Cobb free and clear from all
manner of claims of any person or persons whatsoever in witness whereof we hereunto
set our hand & seals in witness of
