John Furlow To James M. Middleton
Deed 52 acres land
State of North Carolina Duplin County
This indenture made and entered into between John Furlow of Duplin County State
of North Carolina of the one part and James M. Middleton of the same State & County of
the other part Witnesseth that the said John Fulrow of the County aforesaid in and for
the consideration of the sum or one hundred & fifty six dollars in hand paid before the
couseerething and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged
has bargained sold and by these presents set over and confirmed unto the said James M.
Middleton his heirs and assigns forever the following tract or parcil of land situate
lying & being in the County aforesaid. Begining at a stake on the run of the south prong
of Pastor branch at the upper end of the old Ricy patch thence South 20 Et. 114 poles to
a stake in the Liswbon Road thence with said Road So. 65 Wt. 94 poles to a stake on the
Back line thence No. 2 SWt. 43 poles to a stake on the Fayetteville Road on the run of
the south prong of Pastir branch thence down with the meanderings of said run to the
begining containing fifty two acres be the same more or less to have & to hold the said
Parcil and tract of land as above described and the said John Furlow by these presents
warrants & defends the said land to the said James M. Middleton his heirs and assigns
forever free from the lawful claim of all persons whonsoever. In witness whereof I have
hereunto affixed my hand and seal on this 17th March In the year of our Lord Eighteen
hundred and thirty eight
