John Farrier to Will Farrier
This Indenture made this Twenty first day of January One Thousand Seven hundred and Eighty two
Between John Farrier of the County of Duplin and state of North Carolina of the one part and
William Farrier of the same place province and County aforesaid of the other. Witnesseth that
the said John Farrier for and in consideration of the sum of Sixteen pounds Hard money to him
in hand paid at or before the insealing and delivery hereof the Receipt whereof he doth hereby
acknowledge and him self therewith to be fully satisfied and contented and thereof and therefrom
doth hereby acquit the said
William Farrier His heirs
Executors administrators and assigns Hath bargained and sold Enfeoffed conveyed and confirmed and
by these presents for himself his heirs Executors & administrators Hath and doth fully freely and
absolutely Bargain sell Enfeoff convey and forever confirm unto the said William Farrier his heirs
and assigns one certain tract or parcel of land and containing one hundred and twenty five acres of
land be the same more or less lying and being on the South

side of Muddy Creek in the County and province aforesaid being part of a survey of land granted to
James Farrier Sen’r for three hundred and thirty acres of land by a patent Bearing date April the 16th
day 1765 the said One hundred and Twenty five acres of land being bounded as followeth Beginning at a
pine Joining Thigpens line thence along his line to the upper patent line to a Corner tree Thence along
the patent line to another Corner and thence the Beginnings line of marked trees and runs with the said
the said Creek Joining my line and thence along my line to the first Station or Beginning
To Have and to Hold the said
one hundred and twenty five acres of land and premises with the appurtenances unto the said William Farrior
his heirs and assigns forever and I the said John Farrior my heirs and assigns Conveying the aforesaid land
unto the said William Farrior his heirs and assigns forever and I the said John Farrior my heirs and assigns
Conveying the aforesaid land unto the said William Farrior his heirs and assigns forever against the lawfull
Claim of any person or persons whatsoever I do warrant and forever defend the said Bargained premises unto the
said William Farrier his heirs and Assigns forever
