(Transcribed by Joan S Dunn) Deed Book B-11 Page 4 & 5 John Farier to James Sandlin Deed 117 acres This Indenter made the first day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight Hundred thirty seven between John Farior of the State of North Carolina and County of Duplin of one part & James Sandlin of the same State and County of the other part witnesseth that the said John Farior has for and in consideration of the sum of two Hundred & thirty four dollars to him in hand paid by the Said James Sandlin the recipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have bargained sold and set over a certain peace or parcel of Land unto the said James Sandlin bounded as follows on the east side the North East river and west side of Muddy Creek begining at a stake at the run of Pickette branch a little blow the ford of said branch William Pickette corner thence as his line No. 75 Et. 40 po to a short leef pine his corner then as his line No. 62 Et. 109 pole to a pine on Jeremiah Sandlin line then as his line S. 32 Et. 113 poles to a black gum at the run of muddy creek then down the run as it meanders to the mouth of said branch then up the run of said at it meanders to the begining containing by estimation one Hundred and Seventeen acres be the same more or less all whick land and appertainnance there unto belonging the said John Farior do warrent the rite unto the said James Sandlin to be free and clear from the Just and lawful claim of all other person or persons whatsoever in witness where of the said John Farior doth here unto set his hand and afixt his seal the day and date first above written sind sealed and delivered in presence of Wm. Pickett John Farior Gibson Sloan State of North Carolina Duplin County Court of Pleas and Quarter Sessions January Term 1839 the exicution of the within deed is duly acknowledged in open Court by John Farior and is ordered to be registered.
