John Evers To Jacob Wells
Ded 34 acres
This Indenture made the second day of January one thousand seven Hundred and ninety
and in the year of the American Independence Between John Evers senior of the County of Duplin
and State of No. Carolina Planter on the one part and Jacob Wells of the County and State
aforesaid planter Witnesseth that the said John Evers for and In Divers good causes and
considerations himself thereunto moving and consenting but more especially for the valuable
consideration of the sum of ten pounds to him in hand paid before the Ensealing thereof the
Receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge hath by these presents given granted Bargained sold &
Delivered unto Jacob Wells aforesaid one Messuage tract or parcel of Land situate Lying and
being In the County and State aforesaid West side of the North Et. River and in Island Creek
butted and bounded as follows Viz. Begining at a pine at Thomas Evans Corner on the So. Side
of Island Creek Runing thence a Concluded line through Island Creek to a pine on John Evers
Line thence to a pine in the Mouth of the spring Branch from thence to the first station
containing by Estimation about thirty four acres be the same more or less to have and to hold
the said Demised Land & premises with all the appurtaiances to the same Belonging To him the
said Jacob Wells to have hold use occupy Enjoy and possess as his own Lawfull Inheritance fee
and clear from all Minor or former Gifts Grants Bargains Leases Mortgages Wills Intails Jointers
Dowers Judgements Executions Extents or Troubles of Lawsuits or Incumberances whatever and as
for me the said John Evers My Heirs & assigns shall ans will forever warrant and Defend the said
Demised Land and premises to him the said Jacob Wells his heirs Executors Admrs. & assigns from
and against his the said John Evers his heirs and assigns as also from and against the Just and
Lawfull Claim or Claims of any other person or persons In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my
hand and fixed my seal Date above written.
