(Transcribed by Joan S Dunn) Deed Book E Page 459, & 460 John Carter Thompson To Elizabeth Thompson Deed 100 acres This Indenture made This fourth day of December in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety one it witnesseth that I John Carter Thomson of the County of Duplin and State of No. Carolina of the one part and Elizabeth Thomson of the County and State aforesaid of the other part it witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of Fifty pounds Current money of the State to me in hand well and Truly in hand paid before the Ensealing and delivering of these presents the receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge my self to be fully satisfied Contented and paid every part and parcel thereof Have given granted Bargained Sold set over and confirmed unto Elizabeth Thomspon her heirs Executors administrators or assigns forever a certain Tract or parcel of Land it being sittiated Lying and being in the County aforesaid Containing by Estimation One Hundred acres of Land lying on the long Branch. Beginning at a white oak and runs thence No. 63 East 126 poles to a pine, Then South 27 Et. 126 poles to a pine then South 63 Wt. 126 poles to white oak and from Thence to the Beginning. Containing One Hundred acres, be the same more or less. To have and to hold the above Bargained premises clear of all incumbrance the Quitrents only Excepted and that I do for my self and Each of my Heirs, warrant and forever defend the aforesaid Land and premises unto the aforesaid Elizabeth Thomson her Heirs and assigns from the Lawful Clame of any person or persons laying any right title or Claime to the aforesaid Land and premises. In witness whereof I have set my hand and fixed my Seal the day and year first above written by me. Signed Sealed and Delivered In the presence of John Carter Thomson William Hubbard Bearsheba Gibbs State of No. Carolina Duplin County January Term 1792 Then was the within Deed proved in open Court by the oath of William Hubbard and ordered to be Registered.
