Shepherd To Robert Williams Deed for 100 acres lands This indenture made the tenth day February in the eighty year of American Independednce and in the year of our Lord Christ one thousand seven hundred and eighty four, between John B. Shepherd of the State of No. Carolina & County of Duplin of the one part, and Robert Williams of the aforesaid Province and County of the other part. Witnesseth that the said John B. Shepherd for and in consideration of the sum of seventy pounds specie to him in hand paid at and before the ensealing & delivery of these presents, the receipt & payment whereof is hereby acknowledged by the said John B. Shepherd doth acknowledge himself to be therewith fully satisfied contented & paid & of every parcel thereof doth by these presents acquit and discharge the said Robert Williams his heirs and assigns forever, hath by these presents given granted bargained sole aliend enfeoffed conveyed & confirmed & set over to the said Robert Williams his heirs and assigns forever, all that tract of parcel of land situate lying and being in the State & County aforesaid on the head Branches of Maple swamp, a branch of Goshen swamp, joining said Williams's own land Patrick Stewarts John Greer & Mr. McCulloch's and Felix Kenan's lines. Begining at a hickory his own corner on Patrick Stewarts line & runs So. 35 Et. 30 pole to a stake on John Greer's line, thence on or near his line So. 55 Wt. 257 pole, thence No. 35 Wt. 287 poles, thence by Mr. McCulloch's line No. 55 Et. 130 pole, thence by Felix Kenan's line So. 35 Et. 30 pole to said Williams's own line, thence as his own line So. 55 Wt. 100 poles to his corner called a white oak in the paten, thence So. 35 Et. 227 pole to a pine in Savanna his corner, thence as his own line No. 55 Et. 227 pole to the begining, being the contents of a paten granted to James Love and by Love to the said John Baptist Shepherd by virtue of a deed and from said Shepherd to the above Williams as above containing in the whole one hundred acres be the same more or less. To have and to hold the aforesaid bargained lands & premises with all the appurtenances unto him the said Robt. Williams his heirs & assigns forever, to them and their only proper use & behoofe & the said John B. Shepherd the aforesaid bargained land & premises doth hereby warrent & secure to him the said Robert Williams his heirs & assigns forever, from and against him the said John B. Shepherd his heirs & assigns as also from and against the clame or claims of every other person or persons whatsoever who may hereafter lay clame to the same (except any part of the said bargained land and premises should be under cover of some prior paten) and the said Robert Williams his heirs & assigns the aforesaid land and premises shall & may have hold use occupie enjoy & possess as his own free and lawfull inheritance free from all incumbrance given or granted by him the said John Baptist Shepherd or any other person by from or under him. In witness whereof the said John Baptist Shepherd hath hereunto set his hand & seal the day and year above written.
