John Britton To Lamuel Williams
Deed 100 acres
This Indenture made this 15th day of Febuary in the year our Lord Christ 1790.
Between John Britton Cooper of Duplin County and State of No. Carolina of the one part
and Lamuel Williams of Onslow County and State aforesaid planter of the other part
Witnesseth that I the said John Britton for and in consideration of the sum of two
hundred pounds current money of this State to him in hand paid by the said Lamuel Williams
fully and faithfully a Receipt whereof he hath given granted bargained sold alienated
conveyed and confirmed and by these presents do freely give grant bargain sell convey
and confirm unto the Lamuel Williams his heirs and assigns one certain messuage tract
or parcel of Land situate lying and being in the County of Duplin and State aforesaid
lying in the fork of Limestone Creek swamp Including his own Improvements whatch was
patened by Jowel Grigory and granted by his Excellency Wm. Tryon Esquire in the year
1768 April the 29 day through deed to Francis Brice & from Francis Brice to Wm. Wells
joining Francis Shackalfords line begining at a pine in the Wt. side of great limestone
swamp and runs No. 50 Et. 34 poles to a pine Francis Shackelford corner thence No. 23 Wt.
220 poles to a water oak in little limestone swamp thence down the swamp with the meanders
of the run to the mouth thence up main limestone swamp to the begining containing by
estimation one Hundred acres be it the same more or less to have and to hold the above
said demised premises with all the appertainances to the same belonging or in any wise
appertaining with all priviledges belonging to the said premises or appurtaining full &
freely do warrant and defend the said premises from any person or persons laying any persons
lawfull claim thereunto and I the said John Britton for myself my heirs executors
administrators and assigns forever to him the said Lamuel Williams by Receipt administrators
and assigns forever in as full and clear a manner to all intents and purposes the most
learned in the Law coud advise devise or require free manner of incumberances withsoever
and the said John Britton do covenant and agree to and with the said Lamuel Williams his
heirs executors administrators and assigns that before the ensealing & delivery of these
presents that I am the true and Lawful owner of the above demised premises and have in my
self a good right in a Lawful authority to despose of the same in manner and form aforesaid
the Quit rents that may hereafter become due only excepted in witness whereof I have set my
hand and seal the year and Date above mentioned.
