(Transcribed by Joan S Dunn) Deed Book E Page 175, & 176 John Britton To Lamuel Williams Deed 150 acres This Indenture made this twenty ninth day of December one thousand seven hundred and ninty between John Britton of Onslow County and State of North Carolina Cooper of the one part Lamuel Williams of the said County of Onslow and State aforesaid of the other part witnesseth that I the said John Britton for and in consideration of the sum of Ten pounds of good and Lawfull money of the state to him in Hand paid by him the said Lamuel Williams fully and faithfully a Receipt whereof he hath given granted Bargained sold alienated conveyed and confirmed and by these presents do freely give grant Bargain sell Alienate convey and confirm unto the said Lamuel Williams his heirs and assigns forever one certain messuage tract or parcel of Land situate in Duplin County on the East side of the No. East and on the west side of Limestone Creek. Begining at a red Bay John Humphreys Corner & Runs So. 43 Wt. 200 poles along said Humphreys line to a pine in a meadow thence So. 47 Et. 170 pole to a pine on or near Joseph Johnstons line thence with his line No. 43 Et. 200 poles to Joseph Johnstons corner thence to the begining containing by estimation one Hundred and fifty acres be it the same more or less it being a tract or parcel of Land patened by the said John Britton in Duplin County and laid of the 30 day of March 1785 granted by said Johnston Esqr. governor to have and to hold the above demised premises with all the appurtainances to the same belonging or in any wise appurtaining clear and free with all previledges thereunto belonging fully and freely warranted by the said John Britton for himself his heirs Excrs. admrs. and assigns to him the said Lamuel Williams his heirs and assigns forever in as full and clear a manner as the most Learned in the Law coud advise devise or Require free and clear from a manner of suit whatsoever and I the said John Britton do covenant and agree to and with the said Lamuel Williams his heirs Excrs. admrs. and assigns and every of them that before the Ensealing and Delivery of these presents that I am the true and Lawfull owner of the above mentioned premises and therein myself good right and Lawfull Authority to dispose of the same in manner aforesaid the Quit rents that may hereafter become due excepted In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this day and year first above written. signed sealed and Delivered In the Presence of John Britton Elizabeth Britton John Jones State of No. Carolina Duplin County April Term 1791 Then was the within Deed proved in open by the oath of John Jones & ordered to be Registered.
