(Transcribed by Joan S Dunn) Deed Book E Page 236, 237, 238, & 239 John Allen To Meshack Stallings Deed 250 acres This Indenture made the twenty first Day of Febuary in the year of our Lord one thousand seven Hundred and ninety one. Between John Allen of the state of north Carolina and County of New Hanover of the one Part and Meshack Stallings of the same state and County of Duplin of the other Part Witnesseth that the said John Allen for divers good causes and considerations him thereunto moving but more especially for the valuable consideration of the sum of one Hundred and Twenty Pounds Current money of the state aforesaid to him in hand well and truly paid or secured to be paid by Meshack Stallings aforesaid before the Ensealing and Delivery of these presents the Receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath by these presents granted bargained sold assigned and set over to the said Meshack Stallings his Heirs and assigns forever the following Tract peices or parcels of Land situate Lying and bein in the state aforesaid and County of Duplinon the north side of Rockfish Creek and Bounded as follows Viz. One Tract Containing one Hundred acres Begining at a hickory and white oak John Rutherfords line thirty two poles from the Creek alittle below the mouth of Cummins's Creek. Thence west to Rutherferds course and past one Hundred poles to a black Jack. Thence a straight line to the corner of the Red House Land (a white oak stump the course about No. 8 West 150 poles. thence East 100 and Twenty four poles. Thence Rutherfurds line South to the Beging. Also one piece or parcel of Land on both sides of the Public Road by Rockfish Bridge begining at a Cypress and water oak the North side of Rockfish Creek said to be Sampsons old corner and with and old line called Sampson line North Twen five Wt. 80 poles to a pine at a pond said to be a corner of hickory hill land thence Et. 120 poles to a pine Between two ponds nigh the Bridge thence No. 40 poles to a stake thence Et. 90 poles to a hickory and white oak thence So. 32 poles to a Cypress on the Creek bank about fifty yards below the mouth of Little Rockfish thence up the Creek as it Meanders to the Begining Containing in the whole sixty acres. Also one other Tract or Parcel of Land on the North side of Rockfish Creek Including the Red House Meadow Containing forty acres begining at a pine In the edge of the Meadow a Little to the East of the main Road Joseph Dicksons corner thence the Red Hous Meadow land line So. 80 Wt. 120 poles to a white oak stump the corner and also John Allens corner thence his own line Et. 124 poles thence Joseph Dicksons line to the Begining also one other Tract or Parcel of Land in the No. side of Rockfish Creek containing forty acres Joining a tract of Land called the Red House Land Begining at a water oak and gum on the West edge of Cumminses Creek Shadrach Stallings corner on the line of Hickory Hill Survey of 80 acres thence Down Cumminses Creek with the line of hickory Hill Land So. 63 Et. 127 poles to a forked Blackjack John Allens Corner of a survey of one Hundred acres Near Rockfish Bridge by the line of a survey of sixty acres of said Allens thence along the of said Allens hundred acre survey north 80 Wt. 140 poles to an old white oak stump the begining corner of the Red House survey thence as that line no. 82 Wt. 36 poles to a water oak on Cumminses Creek thence Down the Creek with Stallingses line to the first station to Have and to hold the said four Tracts peices Lots or parcels of Land which Contain Two Hundred and fifty acres in the whole by surveys to him the said Meshack Stallings his Heirs and assigns forever and the said John Allen the aforesaid Land and premises to him the said Meshack Stallings his Heirs or assigns shall and will Warrant and Defend forever from and against him the said John ALlen his heirs and assigns as also from and against the Just and Lawfull claim of all and Every other person or Persons whatever who may hereafter Lay any Lawfull Claim to the same and the said John Allen Doth Warrant the said Land to be free from all Incumbrances whatever the Taxes only Excepted In Witness whereof the said John Allen hath hereunto set his hand and seal the Day & year first above written. signed sealed and Delivered In Presence of us John Allen Alexander Dickson Andrew Thally Johna Potts Received of Meshack Stallings the within mentioned Sum of one hundred and twenty Pounds Currency of the State of North Carolina in full consideration as within mentioned witness my hand the 21st Day of Febuary AD 1791.
