Job, Peleg, James, Nicholos Rogers to Isabella Rogers

This indenture made the sixteenth day of January In the year of our Lord Christ one
thousand seven hundred ninety four and in the Eighteenth year of the American
Independence, between Job Rogers, Peleg Rogers, James Rogers, Nicholas Rogers
all of the State of North Carolina and County of Duplin of the one part and Isabella
Rogers of the same place of the other part. Witnessed that the said Job Rogers,
Peleg Rogers, James Rogers, Nicholas Rogers for divers good causes and
consideration term thereunto morning and to fulfill the desire and request of James
Rogers their deceased Father and for the promotion and advancement of their said
Isabella their sister as well for and in consideration of the sum of twenty shillings
lawful money of the state aforesaid to them in hand will and have paid or requested
to be paid by Isabella Rogers aforesaid before the ensealing and delivery of these
present the --- whereof is herby acknowledged hath by their present given granted
bargained sold assigned and delivered to the said Isabella Rogers her Heirs and
assignees forever, one certain tract or parcel of land lying and being in Duplin
aforesaid on the south side of Carr’s Branch a ----- of Maxwell swamp and on both
sides of the main road beginning at a poplar and gum on the run of Carr’s branch
at the mouth of Raccoon branch to Peleg Rogers corner, then on down the run of
Carr’s branch as it meanders about one hundred and sixty poles to a poplar white
oak and water oak at the mouth of poplar branch, Thomas Heith Corner, thence
along the run of said branch as it meanders to a water oak at the mouth of a glade
at said Heath corner there on up the gully with Heathes line about South 40 E 44
poles to a maple and bay his corner, then on his other line N E 30 poles to a pine
sapling his corner then along Beasley’s old line S 45 w. 170 poles to a pine the
corner, then on adding the road No 45 p nearly or about 170 poles to the run of
Raccoon branch, thence down the said run as it meanders with Peleg Rogers line
to the first station containing in the whole two hundred acres to be the same more
or less to have and to hold the aforesaid premises as with the appertaining to the
farm belonging or in any wise appertaining to her the said Isabella Rogers her heirs
and assigns forever of the said Job Rogers, Peleg Rogers, James Rogers and
Nicholas Rogers for themselves and heirs the aforesaid land and premises shall and
will warrant and forever defend to her the said Isabella as far as their titles as heirs
to James Rogers and will admit of from and against them and their heirs or any other
person or persons whatsoever claims by from or under them in witness where of the
said Job Rogers, Peleg Rogers, James Rogers and Nicholas Rogers has hereunto
set their hands and seals at the date above mentioned.
