John Humphrys To Samuel Williams
Deed 150 acres
This Indenture made this first day of September in the fifteenth year of American Independence and
in the year of our Lord 1791. Between John Humphrey of the State of North Carolina and of Duplin County of
the one part and Samuel Williams of the same state and of Onslow County of the other part. Witnesseth that
I the said John Humphrey for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred pounds specie ot him in hand well
and Truly paid by the said Samuel Williams the Receipt of which is hereby acknowledged and himself to be
therewith fully contented and paid hath bargained sold aliened Enfeofed Confirmed assigned and set over unto
the said Samuel Williams his heirs and assigns forever all the Tract or percel of Land situate lying and being
in Duplin County aforesaid on the west side of Limestone Creek. Begining at a gum in the South Edge of Limestone
Swamp by John Brittons Corner thence his line South 23 Et. 194 poles to a pine and hickory thence No. 65 Et.
140 poles to a stake thence No. 23 Wt. 160 poles to the swamp thence to the begining containing by Estimation
one hundred and fifty acres of Land as by Paten bearing date the Eleventh day of July 1788 may more fully appear.
To have and to hold the said Bargained Land and premises with their appurtainces unto the said Samuel Williams
his heirs and assigns forever in as full and ample a manner as he the said John Humphrey might or could hold by
his Patent and that free and clear freely and clearly acquited of all and all former or other grants gifts bargains
sales leases wills mortgages Intails Executions Extents troubles or Incumbrances of any kind whatsoever had made
done or Committed by him the said Johon Humphrey his heirs or assigns Except such Taxes as the state may hereafter
be Imposes on the same and the said John Humphrey doth hereby further covenant and engage to warrant and Defend to
the said Samuel Williams his heirs and assigns in the quiet and peacable possession of the said Bargained Land and
premises from and against the Lawfull or Just Claim of him the said John Humphrey or any person or persons Claiming
or to Claim by from or under him or any other person whatsoever. In witness whereof the John Humphrey hath hereunto
set his hand and seal the day and year first above written.
