John Shuffield fifty acres of land in Duplin County on the North Side of Goshan Swamp near 
the head of Bear Marsh on both side of the Main Road Joining and between his own and 
Reubin Westons lines.  Begining at a stake near his white oak corner of the land he bought 
of Thomas Gray and runs ( continued on page 26)  with his line So. 20 Et. 150 pole to a Dead 
Red Oak his corner by the Road.  Thence So.  85. Et. 50 poles to a stake and pine his other 
corner.  Thence along Westons line No. 5. Et. 102 pole to a pine his corner.  Thence to the 
begining.
Dated 6th of May 1782
