(Transcribed by Joan S Dunn) Deed Book 1 A Page 319, & 320 Jesse Pipkin To Samuel Tanner Deed for 60 acres lands This indenture made this twenty sixth day of November in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and eighty five. Between Samuel Tanner of the State of No. Carolina & County of Duplin of the one part & Jesse Pipkin of the province aforesaid & County of Dobbs of the other part. Witnesseth, that for and in consideration of the sum of five pounds specie money to me Samuel Tanner in hand paid by Jesse Pipkin before the ensealing & delivery of these presents the receipt whereof I acknowledge myself to be satisfied & paid every part and parcel thereof, therefore have given granted bargained sold & conveyed & by these presents do fully & freely absolutely alin convey & confirm unto Jesse Pipkin his heirs executors administrators & assigns forever one certain tract or parcel of land sittuate lying & being in Duplin Counry aforesaid joining Isaac Hines Jesse Pipkins & Richard Robards lines. Begining at a pine Hines's line by a pond & runs with his line No. 23 Et. 160 poles to a pine, thence So. 68 Et. 60 poles to a pine on Jesse Pipkins line, thence with his line So. 22 Wt. 160 a pine on Robards line, thence to the begining, containing sixty acres lying & being in the County of Duplin. To have & to hold to the said Jesse Pipkin his heirs executors & administrators & assigns togeather with all advantages woods ways water & water courses & as for my part the aforesaid Samuel Tanner my heirs executors administrators & assigns doth hereby covenant promise and engage unto the said Jesse Pipkin his heirs executors administrators & assigns that they shall peacebly & quietly hold use occupie & enjoy the aforesaid land and premises with all the appurtenances & previledges to the same belonging free and clear of all incumbrances whatsoever, and as for me the aforesaid Saml. Tanner my heirs executors administrators & assigns will forever warrant and defend the aforesaid land and premises as aforesaid to Jesse Pipkin his heirs exos. administrators & assigns against the lawfull clame or clames of any person or persons whatsoever. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand & fixed my seal the day & date first written. Samuel Tanner Signed Sealed & delivered in the presence of us. Daniel Hines Elizabeth Davis State of No. Carolina Duplin County October Court 1786. Then was the within deed proved in open Court by the oath of Isaac Hines & ordered to be registered. Test W.
